The Kerala High Court ruled that the Registrar of Co-operative Societies is a public authority under the Right to Information Act, reports a legal media outlet.
It stated that the Registrar could collect and disclose information from Co-operative Societies under his control, as permitted by law.
This decision came after an appellant, denied information by various RTI authorities, filed a writ petition, which was dismissed.
