In a startling revelation, Goregaon-based businessman Manoj Singh (44) fell victim to an alleged scam orchestrated by 10 office bearers of a co-operative credit society.
Singh, hailing from Andheri (East) and running a transport business, lodged a complaint with the police, claiming he was promised substantial returns on a Rs 1 crore investment made in September 2023.
However, the accused failed to deliver on their promise, prompting Singh to seek legal recourse. Goregaon police have initiated action under relevant sections of the IPC and MPID Act.
