NCDC: Funds for Kerala increased 2.5 time in 5 years

The funds disbursed by NCDC to the State of Kerala during the last five years has increased more than 2.5 times i.e. Rs 704 in 2022-23 and Rs 273.62 crore in 2018-19. The total fund disbursed in Kerala in the last five years till 31st March 2023 was Rs 2,017.64 crore.

The figures were shared by Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah.

“Further, National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC), a statutory corporation under administrative control of the Ministry of Cooperation, provides financial assistance to cooperative societies. Financial assistance is provided through State Governments or directly to the eligible cooperatives on certain prescribed terms and conditions, based on the receipt of proposals from State Governments / Cooperative Societies”, he added.

Shah further said, “Ministry of Cooperation is implementing a centrally sponsored project for Computerization of 63,000 functional PACS with a total financial outlay of Rs 2,516 crore. The State Governments have forwarded their proposals for participation under the project. Based on the proposals received from the State Governments grant is released under the project. The Government of Kerala has not forwarded any proposal for participation under the project”.
