The apex body of consumer cooperatives- National Cooperative Consumers’ Federation of India (NCCF) organized a special meeting of the general body at NCUI’s headquarters for taking the approval of shareholders in amending the by-laws of NCCF as per the amendments made in the Multi State Cooperative Societies Act 2023.
The shareholders, who came from different parts of the country, unanimously passed the items on the agenda and gave their unconditional approval for amending the by-laws of the NCCF.
On this occasion, NCUI President Dileepbhai Sanghani, Nafed Chairman Bijendra Singh, Kribhco Chairman Dr Chandra Pal Singh Yadav, NCCF Chairman Vishal Singh and others were present.
Addressing the delegates, NCCF Chairman Vishal Singh gave a brief account of the recently amended Multi State Cooperative Societies Act and informed the august gathering that it was the need of hour to amend the by-laws of NCCF to attune them with the MSCS Act 2023.
Singh also thanked shareholders present on the occasion for giving their unwavering support to take the consumer cooperative movement to newer heights. “NCCF is looking forward to moving ahead and making efforts to grow the organization in all aspects. We are getting support from the government as well”, he added in his remarks.
NCCF Managing Director Anice Joseph Chandra (IRS) placed the agenda before the delegates, which was unanimously passed.
“The organization is focusing on achieving the prescribed targets and strengthening not only the roots of the consumer cooperative movement but also helping people in giving food commodities at reasonable prices’ ‘, she said.
NCCF Vice-Chairman Yashpal Singh Yadav proposed a vote of thanks.
It is worth mentioning that NCCF is growing well and also playing an important role in stabilizing the prices of food commodities. Earlier, when the tomato prices touched the sky, NCCF came forward and joined hands with the central government for stabilizing prices. At present, NCCF is engaged in selling Bharat Dal, Bharat Atta, Onions & Millets.
It bears recalling that last month NCCF earned a net profit of Rs 29.25 crore as on 31st March 2023.
