A massive scandal has broken out in the Chitwan Gyalko Saving & Credit Cooperative in Chitwan, Nepal, reports a Nepali news outlet.
The scandal involves 12 crore Nepalese Rupees (NPR), out of the 85 crores NPR collected from its members. It is being alleged that the chairman and the managing director of the cooperative are involved in misappropriation of funds.
The scandal that has left 8 thousand members in a serious financial crisis, needs a thorough probe, many co-operators have demanded.
