“Out of 1582 MSCS, 88 societies including banks are under liquidation. The majority of MSCS societies, which are under liquidation, are from Rajasthan 19, Maharashtra 13 MSCS societies”, said Union Cooperation Minister Amit Shah.
He further added, as on 30th October 2023, there are 1582 MSCS out of which 663 cooperative societies are in Maharashtra. Uttar Pradesh with 168 MSCS and New Delhi with 161 stands at 2nd and 3rd position in having a number of multi state cooperative societies.
A total of seven multi state cooperative banks are under liquidation in which 4 are from Maharashtra, 2 from Gujarat and 1 from Goa.
