Shashikant V. Bugde’s appointment as the NAFCUB representative on the Kerala TAFCUB has widely been welcomed in the cooperative 
circles of the country. Mr Budge heads the Pune based Cosmos Cooperative Bank – the fastest growing cooperative bank in the country.
While the abbreviation NAFCUB stands for national federation of urban cooperative banks and credit societies ,TAFCUB is a state level body responsible for developing the cooperative sector through rehabilitation of weak banks. The latter has representatives from the RBI, State Government and NAFCUB as its members.
S.V. Bugde is a renowned personality with 35 years of experience in the Co-operative Banking industry. He has been the Managing Director of Cosmos Bank, with the longest stint of over 30 years and is currently its Chairman.
His able leadership has marked the pinnacle of the career of the Cosmos Bank. The Pune headquartered bank has an annual turnover of Rs 21,525 crore and with its 119 branches spans a big swath of the country including Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.
