Encouraged by a piece in the prestigious magazine Newsweek, International Cooperative Alliance President Ariel Gaurco wrote on his Facebook wall that Cooperative hospitals are among the best in the world.
Gaurco assertion is based on the fact that Newsweek, in partnership with Statista, released 2023 ranking of the world’s best specialized hospitals. The ranking features the top 300 hospitals for cardiology and oncology.
This list has the top 200 hospitals for paediatrics, the top 150 for cardiac surgery and endocrinology and the top 125 each in gastroenterology, orthopedics, neurology, neurosurgery, urology and pulmonology.
The lists are based on a global survey, to which over 40,000 medical professionals (doctors, health care professionals and hospital managers) were invited.
This is the second year when Newsweek and Statista have developed a list of hospitals that best avail themselves of the most advanced technologies. The World’s Best Smart Hospitals 2023 ranks the 300 facilities in 28 countries that lead in their use of AI, digital imaging, telemedicine, robotics and electronic functionalities.
Gaurco writes “According to The World’s Best Hospitals 2023, a study on hospitals’ reputation and performance published yearly by Newsweek magazine, several cooperative centres are among the most highly valued in their country.”
“In Brazil, the Unimed cooperative has 10 hospitals within the top 100. In Spain, Hospital HLA Moncloa and Hospital de Barcelona, both members of the Espriu cooperative network, also stand among the highest-scoring health institutions”, he noted.
“The American publication highlights the capacity of the selected hospitals to attract the best talent and obtain the best health outcomes, while maintaining a high level in research and innovation in new therapeutic techniques”, states ICA President.
