Nagpur (Maharashtra) based Scheduled Bank- Shikshak Sahakari Bank’s elections will be held for 11 seats on 26th March 2023 (today) and six directors have already been elected unopposed.
The bank board consists of 17 directors out of which six seats are for SC/ST, VJNT, Women and Expert Directors have been elected unopposed. The election will be held for 10 general seats and a seat from the OBC category.
Interestingly, an independent candidate Ramu Wanjari is contesting the election from two seats i.e. General and OBC. But the existing board under the leadership of the bank’s outgoing Chairman Anil Sole has its own panel in the race.
Wanjari is the only candidate who is standing against the Sole’s Panel. In the panel of the outgoing Chairman five are newcomers and the rest are old hands. Eligible voters count more than hundred fifty thousand. .
Meanwhile, efforts to contact the Sole fPanel for their comments on the election failed, as calls went unanswered.
The bank has a business mix of more than Rs 1500 crore and has 22 branches in the Vidarbha region.
