The two-day national executive meeting of RSS affiliated cooperative organization Sahakar Bharati concluded in Ujjain, adopting various resolutions in the interest of the cooperative movement. The RSS leaning body decided to take part in co-op elections across the nation more actively from this time on.
On this occasion, Sahakar Bharati office bearers appealed to the cooperative ministry to conduct co-op elections on time, expedite the registration process for co-ops and issuing fresh licenses to UCBs which have not been given the same for decades.
It was also decided that Sahakar Bharati will play an active role at all the National & State level Cooperative Federations elections henceforward. In the meeting the status of Organisational Structure was reviewed and it was decided unanimously to work hard for both geographical & sectoral spread, possibly in the next two years.
For the first time 4 delegates from Nagaland (where Sahakar Bharat recently has launched its unit) were invited as special invitees for the NEC Meeting.
The meeting organized at Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, was attended by its President D N Thakur, National General Secretary Uday Joshi, National Organizing Secretary Sanjay Pachpor, Param Pujya Shri Dakshina Murthy Pithadhishvar 1008 Swami Shri Punyanand Giri Ji Maharaj and others.
After the meeting talking to the Indian Cooperative Joshi said, “During the meeting the first four delegates from Nagaland had joined as special invitees. It was decided to hold the Next National Adhiveshan in Punjab in November 2024”.
“Besides, the National Conference of various co-ops cells such as credit, UCBs, fisheries, housing etc will be held preferably in November 2023. We will play an active role at all the National & State level cooperative federation elections”, he added.
Sahakar Bharati’s representatives also thanked the Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for giving relief to PACS & PACARDS from Sec 268 T to deposit & to loan to the extent of Rs 2 lakhs but also extending this relief to Credit CoOps.
Reaffirming its commitments towards the Co-op movement & Co-operators across the country, Sahakar Bharati welcomed & expressed heartfelt gratitude for focused moves taken by the Central Government in its budget announcements for the year 2023 to 24. In particular it hailed the computerisation of 63000 PACS and bid to convert them into multifunctional CoOps through Model By Laws as formulated by the CoOp Ministry.
The meeting also hailed the Constitution of Co Op database for CoOps across the country and welcomed the registration of three National level Multistate Co-Ops in the field of Seeds, Organic farming and Export to strengthen the supply chain management. Sahakar Bharati also applauded the constitution of a national co-op policy panel under the chairmanship of Suresh Parbhu.
Sahakar Bharati also hailed the provision of Rs 6000cr additional fund for fisheries, Agri Finance and Special assistance to SHGS. It demanded that the raise in the cash limit of Rs 20k as applicable to PACS and Dairy co-ops, be extended to Credit Co-Ops and Fisheries co-ops.
The meeting was attended by 200 delegates from 28 states. It concluded with the valedictory address by National President DN Thakur.
According to the Cooperative Principles, leadership in Cooperative Society should be made from amongst the members of the Cooperative itself through democratic manner as well as Cooperatively driven motive not Politically motivated. We need Dr.V.Kurien like people who had sacrificed for the benefit and wellbeing of Cooperative not for himself and his Party !
