Maharashtra based Federation of Multistate Cooperative Credit Societies (FMCCS) organized its annual general meeting recently, which was presided over by its President Suresh Wable.
While addressing the AGM, Wable said, “The area of jurisdiction of our federation is in the states of Maharashtra and Karnataka but now we have decided to expand our footprint to the states of Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh and Delhi. In this regard we will soon submit a proposal to the concerned department”.
“The Multistate credit co-ops are doing very well in Maharashtra compared to other states. These societies should be inspected by Chartered accounts instead of registrar department officials”, said Wable.
He also added “Multistate credit institutions should adopt the latest technology in their activities. We hope that many of our pending demands will be met in the National Cooperative Policy”.
He further added that these co-ops are not only giving loans and taking deposits, but also working to help the needy. During the corona period we had done a lot of social work.
During the cooperative banking conference in New Delhi, which was inaugurated by Union Cooperation Minister Amit Shah, I raised many issues related to multi state co-ops and asked for giving new branch licenses to these co-ops for expanding their network, he underlined.
Besides, we are planning to organize a mega event of multistate credit co-ops societies and it will be organized in the month of November, he added.
In his address, FMCCS Vice President Prof. V.S.Ankalkote said, multi state credit co-op institutions are working on social consciousness. These credit institutions are proving to be a boon for rural areas.
Bajirao Panmand, Adinath Shinde, Nakul Kadu and Rajendra Hazare and others raised various issues on this occasion.
FMCCS Director Ravindra Kanade moderated the meeting. Uddhavrao Nevse gave a vote of thanks.
There are 285 multi state credit co-ops in Maharashtra and 35 in Karnataka, out of which around 195 multi state co-ops are its members.
