The Union Ministry of Chemical and Fertilizers released a circular regarding the packaging of fertilizer bags on Wednesday.
The department asked the fertilizer companies including IFFCO and Kribhco to ensure the printing of logos indicating fertilizer subsidy schemes namely Pradhanmantri Bhartiya Janurvarak Pariyojna on the fertilizer bags.
Under the ‘One Nation One Fertilizer’ scheme, companies are allowed to showcase their names, brands, logos and other information on one third space of the fertilizer bags.
According to the memorandum, “The single brand name for UREA, DAP, MOP and NPK etc. would be BHARAT UREA, BHARAT DAP, BHARAT MOP and BHARAT NPK etc. respectively for all Fertilizer Companies, State Trading Entities (STEs) and Fertiliser Marketing Entities (FMEs)”.
