Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the sprawling new head office of the Ministry of Cooperation at Atal Akshay Urja Bhawan, CGO Complex, New Delhi today (Thursday).
On this occasion, Union Minister of State for Cooperation BL Verma, Cooperation Secretary Gyanesh Kumar, OSD to Amit Shah, K K Tripathy, Joint Secretary Abhay Kumar Singh and other senior officials of the cooperation ministry were present.
The office of the Ministry of Cooperation was operating from Krishi Bhawan but now it has its own address. Now cooperatives have not only a ministry but also a separate Bhavan, said a co-operator.
With the creation of the new ministry of cooperation, the cooperative sector has gained visibility and new reforms are being carried out to develop this sector, he added.
Earlier, the cooperative related issues were addressed at a wing created in the Krishi Bhawan.
