Incumbent Vice-Chairman of GCMMF, Valamji Humbal, and 12 others were elected unopposed as directors of Kutch District Cooperative Milk Producers Union Limited (KDCMPUL) aka Sarhad Dairy, reports Indian Express.
Humbal, the incumbent president of Sarhad Dairy, won the election for the fifth time. Sarhad Dairy is one of the member unions of the GCMMF, Gujarat’s apex cooperative dairy organization, which sells milk and milk products under the brand name Amul.
Though cooperative elections are fought on party symbols, Humbal and others belong to the BJP.
