Chairman of Gujarat State Cooperative Bank Ajay Patel won the election for the post of chairman of the Gujarat branch of Red Cross Society on Sunday defeating Gujarat’s speaker’s wife Nilma Acharya, reports Indian Express.
Patel got 24 votes, while Acharya could get only eight votes.
Ajay Patel is supposed to be close to Union Minister for Home and Cooperation Amit Shah.
It is worth mentioning that Gujarat’s cooperatives have been helping the red cross society of India with blood donation camps etc.
