Thousands of investors have got Rs 5 lakh each as deposit insurance against their swindled money in the Shivajirao Bhosale Co-operative Bank scam case, HT quotes RS Dhondkar, administrator of the bank saying.
The administrator said a total of Rs 234.74 crore has been paid to depositors. ESIC has given Rs 281 crore to be disbursed to the cheated investors.
The administrator says 60,000 depositors will get the insurance money in the course of time. A case has been lodged against the bank directors under various Sections of IPC and relevant sections of Maharashtra Protection of Interest of Depositors (MPID).
