Shillong Times reports the Assam fisheries department has won three awards from the National Fisheries Development Board (NFDB).
The “Best Farmer – Hilly and North Eastern State” has been given away to Anup Kumar Sarmah. The Kalong-Kapili Cooperative Society Kamrup (Metro) has won the “Best Fisheries Cooperative Society” award and Bongaigaon district has been awarded the “Best Hilly and North Eastern District” award.
The awards were given away at a function in Bhubaneswar where Union Minister for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Parshottam Rupala and other ministers of the department were present.
