Three unidentified men allegedly robbed Rs 35 lakh at gunpoint from a cooperative bank situated in Begowal village about 25 kms from Pathankot , police said.
“Rs 35.8 has been robbed on gun point from the Cooperative bank (Begowal),” SSP Pathankot Surinder Kumar Kalia said. “At the time of robbery only branch cashier Sham Lal was present in the bank.
Sham Lal opened the branch about one and a half hour earlier without informing senior officials or branch manager,” the SSP said, adding, Lal might have connived with the robbers.
A case under various sections of the IPC and Arms act has been registered against three unidentified persons, Kalia said investigation in the matter is on.
