A delegation from Nafed led by Assistant Managing Director Pankaj Kumar Prasad met the Director Agriculture, Kashmir, Chowdhary Mohammad Iqbal last week and discussed the launch of the GI Tagged Kashmir Saffron.
On the occasion, Iqbal reiterated the importance of preserving the unique identity of Kashmiri Saffron. The delegation from NAFED and other stakeholders have to work in close coordination for the development and prosperity of the saffron farmers, he said.
The representatives of the Saffron Growers Association, Technical Experts from India International Kashmir Saffron Trade Centre, and senior officers of the Department were present at the meeting.
Later on, the official Twitter handle of Nafed shared the news and wrote, “Nafed officials led by Sh. Pankaj Prasad AMD met Sh. C.M.Iqbal Director Agri in Srinagar on 12.11.21 to discuss Launch & Marketing of GI Tag Saffron. Soon it will be available at NAFED Bazaar & its E-Com portal. NAFED takes pride in enhancing the income of Kashmir Saffron growers”.
