Dolled up like a bride, NCUI Haat is witnessing huge foot falls of visitors. The fair was inaugurated by the Union Minister of State for Cooperation BL Verma in the presence of NCUI’s Chairman Dileep Sanghani, Union Cooperative Secretary DK Singh, and other cooperators. It will continue till 20th November 2021.
On this occasion, the Minister spent more than an hour visiting each and every stall. He also gathered information about them. Verma was much impressed by their work which he mentioned in his speech soon after visiting stalls in a function organized at the NCUI Auditorium, New Delhi.
Many co-ops welcomed the minister with their products. During his visit to stalls, Verma shared his recent experience of visiting several co-ops spread across the country and said, “We are in the process of launching new schemes and policies to strengthen the cooperative movement. We are making a blueprint and will soon give good news”, he said.
NCUI’s senior employees led by the NCUI CE Sudhir Mahajan, Ritesh Dey, and others were seen apprising the minister and secretary of each stall’s background.
The fair has been designed and managed in a manner to resemble India International Trade Fair (IITF) at Pragati Maidan. “We are lucky to be here because NCUI has given us a platform to showcase and sell handmade products. We hope that we will get a good response”, said one of the stall managers from Rajasthan.
A stall from Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu namely Raja Self Help Group led by its Chairman Ramachandran apprised the minister of the activities being undertaken by the society and gifted their products to the minister.
NCUI has taken a historic initiative to provide a platform for small co-ops and SHGs to showcase their products. The stalls of Amul, Kribhco, Nafed, NCCF, IFFCO, Campco one of the subsidiaries of IFFDC and 70 other stalls have been set up where artists, SHGs and cooperatives from 20 states are displaying their exotic products like ethnic fabric designs, artificial pieces of jewelry, bamboo products, woodcraft and other fancy items.
