Speaking on the occasion of the 64th AGM of agri giant Nafed, senior co-operator Dr Chandra Pal Singh Yadav hailed the recently passed legislations on farm reforms saying these would prove a game changer when implemented.

“Three Farm Legislations” throw open a huge opportunity for the cooperative sector and farmers must make the most of it” said Chandra Pal underlining its importance. The role of middlemen would be over and co-ops would be the mainstay of the procurement drive, felt Chandra Pal who headed the apex body of co-ops, NCUI till recently.

Underlining that Nafed’s procurement activities would increase many fold, Yadav, who is also chairman of Kribhco, said that the agri co-op should hold a workshop once in a year for members so that they are coached into modern techniques of both farming and marketing.

Chandra Pal also raised the issue of transparency in co-op business. ‘We have to win the trust of members at all costs”, said Chandra Pal to the thunderous applause of the audience.
