The EOW has arrested 12 persons from across the state for their alleged involvement in the Rs 1,200 crore scam breaking in the Bhaichand Hirachand Raisoni (BHR) State Cooperative Credit Society based in Pune, reports Indian Express.
In 2015, a senior citizen had lodged a complaint with Kothrud police station. Even the chairman and some directors of the credit co-op have been arrested and put in jal.
It is said the Society allegedly attracted depositors by offering a 13 per cent interest rate on fixed deposits..
