Boiler accident kills 2 contract labours; IFFCO announces Rs 5 lac compensation

An unfortunate accident at IFFCO’s Phulpur Unit in Prayagraj at around 01:15 P.M. today (Tuesday) claimed the lives of two contract labour. IFFCO announced compensation of Rs 5 Lakh and Rs 1 Lakh has been paid immediately to the affected families.

Pradeep Yadav & Babuji Yadav lost their lives. The IFFCO management led by their MD Dr U S Awasthi have offered condolences.

“We at #IFFCO deeply regret the sad & unfortunate accident that took place at around 01:15 p.m. today in the boiler at Phulpur Unit in Prayagraj. 2 contract labour lost their lives. IFFCO will take care of their dependants in best possible manner”, said IFFCO MD.

Besides, IFFCO is organizing condolence meeting tomorrow (Wednesday) at 11am in all plants and offices of IFFCO and IFFCO will observe a 2 minutes silence in solidarity of the departed souls in the Phulpur accident, reads a press release sent to Indian Cooperative.

“Situation at the accident site is under control & the injured persons are undergoing appropriate medical treatment at the nearby facility, the release states. An official technical enquiry has been ordered to look into the accident to find out the cause of incident”, claimed IFFCO.
