According to media reports, the employees of cooperative societies in Jalaun district of Uttar Pradesh have protested against the delay in the payment of salary last week.
Cooperative Society Employees Union Chairman Neeraj Verma said that there are 68 cooperatives in the district. The employees have not got their salary for a few months.
Their financial situation is so bad that they are not able to fulfil their household needs, he added. These co-ops are doing the business of mini banking, seed, urea distribution and others.
