According to news coming in from Bahraich district of Uttar Pradesh employees of the district cooperative bank have demanded a merger of DCCBs with the state cooperative bank in view of a deteriorating economy.

A joint meeting of Cooperative Bank employees and Cooperative Bank Employees Union was held on Wednesday. In the meeting, the association representative Shailendra Mishra said that a committee was formed following the suggestion of NABARD but no action has been taken so far.
On the occasion, employees demanded to change the three-tier structure. After having a single bank, the situation will improve and also be able to work in the interest of farmers, they averred.
