Uttar Pradesh Cooperative Secretary M V S Rami Reddy stopped the promotion of employees, their status as contractual permanent employees recruited in 2391 posts in various cooperative institutions during the 2012 to 2017 year. The appointments were done during the SP government in Uttar Pradesh illegally.

The decision has been taken in view of the SIT investigation of irregularities in the recruitment.

Principal Secretary Cooperation has ordered to stop these personnel with immediate effect from getting any benefit. In this regard, the cooperative department has written a letter to all the MDs of apex cooperative organizations in the state and asked them not to promote employees till the further orders of the government.

It bears recall that during the Samajwadi Party government in Uttar Pradesh, 2391 posts in cooperatives were filled in between 2012-2017. 93 employees were recruited in 2013, 1329 in 2015 and 969 in 2016.

The employees were recruited in several organizations including Uttar Pradesh State Warehousing Corporation, PCF, Cooperative Village Development Bank, UP State Cooperative Bank, DCCBs and others. On 20 June 2018, the government ordered an SIT investigation.
