Assam Cooperative Apex Bank (ACAB) which contributed Rs 10 lakh towards the Assam Arogya Nidhi Trust, has been faithfully following the guidelines of RBI on issues of offering relief to customers in the wake of Covid 19.

Sharing the details with Indian Cooperative, Bank Managing Director S S Shastri said, “In helping the government fight against Covid-19, our bank has contributed a fund of Rs 10 lakh towards the Assam Arogya Nidhi Trust last week in Guwahati. The cheque was personally handed over by me to the health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma”, he informed.

Besides, in the current situation, the bank has given all the relief to its customers including a moratorium of three months and others. “Amid the coronavirus outbreak, we have given relief to our customers which RBI asked banks to give them”, said Shastri on the phone.

Later, National Health Mission, Assam has shared this news from their social media handle.

It is to be mentioned that MD of the bank Shastri has played an important role in making the bank a profit making one in the span of 2.5 years. Indian Cooperative intends to do a separate story highlighting a dramatic turnaround of the co-op bank.

ACAB has a network of 67 branches with 6 zonal offices and one corporate office in the state. The bank has a business mix of over Rs 5k crore.
