Business Line reports apart from helping the arecanut farmers by buying their produce during the lock down Campco will increase the procurement price by ?5 a kg.
The news outlet quotes Suresh Bhandary, Managing Director of Campco making this announcement.
Meanwhile, the cooperative has also decided to increase the quantity of arecanut procured from growers.
Arecanut is the major source of income for many farmers with small and marginal land holdings in districts of Karnataka and northern part of Kerala.
