Living up to its role as the apex body of the cooperative movement in the country, National Cooperative Union of India NCUI has offered to lend all help possible to the govt efforts in fighting Corona Virus and has offered to give its over 48 rooms capacity hostel for making isolation wards to the govt.
“We will leave no stone unturned to defeat the virus”, declared its President Dr Chandra Pal Singh Yadav, who is video-conferencing with co-operators from across the country to monitor the situation.
The apex body of cooperatives also announced to donate one-day salary of its staff to the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund in order to help the Centre fight the corona virus in the country.
In a telephonic communication with Indian Cooperative, NCUI CE N Satyanaryana said, “NCUI has decided to contribute one day’s salary to the PM National Relief Fund to fight the coronavirus pandemic”.
In the fight against COVID-19, NCUI has decided to voluntarily contribute one day’s salary of its over 250 permanent and contractual employees spread across the country. The estimated amount would be around Rs 5 lakh and the employees having a salary of more than Rs. 20,000 will donate from their salary. Let us all be part of our nationwide united effort against COVID -19″, Satyanarayana said.
Besides, NCUI is also planning to give its over 48 rooms capacity hostels for making isolation wards in case of emergency, underlined its CEO.
NCUI will talk to the board members for taking several measures through video conferencing.
He further said though our Delhi corporate office is totally closed and employees have been asked to work from home but to disburse the salary to the staff seven employees from the account section and me are visiting the headquarters on Monday-Tuesday.
“We have also taken the best possible measures to keep our employees and others safe. NCUI also distributed sanitizers and other protective gears to the employees. The guards who are taking care of the NCUI campus have been provided with all protective gears to save themselves from the coronavirus”, he said.
