The elections of 72 PACCs falling in Purnia district of Bihar will be held on 17th April and the cooperative department has already started making preparations for the elections.

The nomination process for the upcoming PACS election starts on April 4. The withdrawal will be held on the 10th of April and voting will take place on 17th April. The counting of votes will be done soon after the voting.

It is to be noted that there are 257 PACCs societies in this district out of which the elections of 185 PACCs were held in December last year. The elections of several PACCs were not held due to non-fulfillment of quorum and some were not involved in the electoral process due to the non-submission of funds for elections at the time.

Over 1.10 lakh voters will cast their votes for electing presidents of these PACCs. The list of 188 polling stations has been sent to the Election Department by the Cooperatives Department for the PACS elections.
