Cooperators are crying foul as the Congress govt of Kamalnath in Madhya Pradesh is trying to convert cooperative into personal fiefdom. “While it should bother for conducting elections in co-op bodies, it is in fact trying hard to fit its own men into the co-op system, wrecking a havoc for co-op movement”, charges Opposition party BJP.
Media reports say elections will not be held in district cooperative banks in Madhya Pradesh and preparations for the appointment of non-government administrators are underway.
The apex bank will prepare a list of cooperative leaders of districts for appointment as administrators and their name have been sought from MLAs.
It is to be noted that the elections of cooperatives have been pending for the last two years and the BJP has criticized the Kamal Nath Government over the issue.
Meanwhile, BJP Spokesperson Rajneesh Agarwal charged the congress government is arbitrarily adjusting their own leaders in cooperative banks – a move that is absolutely unfair.
In his tweet Agarwal wrote, “Cooperative sector in Madhya Pradesh on the path of ruin again. Congress is accommodating their leaders in cooperative banks. BJP is alert and will not spare them.
The government is in the process of appointing non-government administrators in thirty banks out of 38 DCCBs. Cooperative Minister Dr Govind Singh and Apex Bank Administrator Ashok Singh have met in this connection.
Earlier, non-government administrators had been appointed in four DCCBs including Chhindwara, Betul, Bhind and Balaghat. However, appointments could not be made in the DCCBs of Panna, Chhatarpur and Satna due to the matter being in the court.
It is being reported that the congress government is planning to accommodate their people in other cooperatives as well at district level. There are over 4800 PACCS in the state and the government is planning to appoint administrators in these societies also.
Rewa, Satna, Datia and Gwalior DCCBs are in heavy losses and the government is trying to help them out.
