The apex body of cooperatives in the country NCUI is going to kick off the 66th Cooperative Week on Thursday at its majestic auditorium located on Siri Fort Road in New Delhi. Narendra Singh Tomar, Union Agriculture Minister will be the Chief Guest at the inaugural function which would begin at 11 am on 14th November.
Believing that the co-operative model alone is capable of rewriting the fortune of India the 66th Cooperative Week’s theme is ‘Role of Cooperatives in New India’.
In a press release the apex body says “The objective of the Cooperative Week celebrations is to generate cooperative awareness among the masses.”
The plan is to highlight the successes and achievements of the cooperative movement, and also chalk out the future strategies for strengthening the cooperative movement in the country, reads the release from NCUI.
The week-long celebrations will consist of organizing seminars, workshops, conferences, and various other events to popularize the cooperative model among the youth.

Earlier, NCUI had organized a Nomenclature meeting of MDs/senior officials of Delhi-based national level cooperative federations to decide the theme and sub-themes of the Cooperative Week, which was later approved in the NCUI Governing Council meeting.
Last year it was Union Minister of Agriculture Radha Mohan Singh who inaugurated the 65th All India Cooperative Week organized by apex body of cooperatives NCUI in Delhi.
