Setting a target of three lakh metric tonnes sugar production, Shakti Sugar Mills at Haripur Dhenkanal in Orisaa has begun sugarcane crushing.
Senior vice-resident of the cooperative sector integrated sugar mill R Ramdurai said the factory had set a target of three lakh metric tonne production this year against 2.48 lakh achieved last year.
The district collector Bishnu Prasad Panday inaugurated sugarcane crushing after performing puja in the mill.
