A four day International Program on Microfinance for delegates of SANASA Federation of Sri Lanka was successfully conducted by Vamnicom from 2nd to 6th September 2019. Dr.D.V.Deshpande was the chief instructor of the training programme, reads a press release sent by Vamnicom.
About 30 participants attended the program. The event was inaugurated on the auspicious occasion of Shri Ganesh Chaturthi by Dr.K.K.Tripathy, Director Vamnicom.
Pradeepti, the coordinator of SANASA Srilanka, introduced his organization SANASA & focused on the aspect of gaining knowledge from this valuable program & implementing the inputs in their organization. He also proposed to have a bilateral agreement between SANASA, Srilanka & Vamnicon, Pune.
In his opening remarks, Tripathy welcomed the participants to the Vamnicom campus, & assured them that they will get valuable inputs through sessions, with guest lecturers & field visits. He was also all praise for the proposal of a bilateral agreement.
Participants from Sri Lanka introduced themselves & expressed their views about the importance of Microfinance and the cooperative sector. They said they would use the knowledge gained here in their organizations.
Field visits were arranged to enable them to experience the best practices of Satara DCCB & Baramati Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK). Participants were highly impressed by the good work done by these agencies.
Unity in Diversity was the unique character of the program which was highly appreciated.
It bears recall that last month in August a five-days International Program on “Agri Value Chain Financing” was conducted in VAMNICOM in collaboration with Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Govt. of India.
It was organized by Center for International Cooperation and Training in Agricultural banking (CICTAB), Pune. Total 22 participants from Nepal, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka had attended the program.
