The Tribune reports the Board of Directors of Lahaul Potato Growers Co-operative Marketing-cum-Processing Society Limited (LPS), the oldest organization of farmers in Himachal Pradesh has been dissolved.
The registrar of cooperatives has put the society under the control of an administrator till the new board is formed. The registrar’s decision followed the revelation of gross financial irregularities by the board management.
Sources say action was also taken as a Zila Parisad member and also the member of the LPS had complained listing irregularities indulged in by the management board.
