IFFCO elections: Khatri may spring a surprise
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Sunil Khatri, a ubiquitous face in Delhi’s cooperative circuit may queer the existing Director Prahlad Singh’s pitch. With the reorganization of constituency Khatri seems to be in an advantageous position.

Belonging to Haryana, Khatri is active these days wooing delegates from Delhi and Haryana- composing his constituency. There are around 70 votes in the region and though Prahlad had been a minister in Haryana, Khatri is the rising star of the region, said a source.

It bears recall that the fertilizer cooperative IFFCO is presently going through the process of election and the first phase of it is over where it elected 847 delegates, 46 being women among them. Nomination for BoDs will begin from April 26 and the final election is scheduled for 10th May.

On condition of anonymity IFFCO sources said there is no certainty that the outgoing Directors would be re-elected. They conjecture that there will be intense fights at least over 5 seats.

IFFCO on its part is exercising all precautions to keep the election fair and transparent. It has decided tp install 8 CCTVs cameras and LEDs will be displayed at the IFFCO headquarters in Saket.

The distribution of forms will begin from 26th April and close on 3rd May. The list of candidates who file their nomination papers would be made public on 5th May. The final list after scrutiny and withdrawal will be out on 9th May and the election of the Board of Directors would be held on 10th May 2019.
