I am 83 based in London with a flat in Khar. I am looking for a new tenant as the present occupier has just vacated. The Society in which the flat is has indicated interest-free deposit of Rs 21000–for extreme emergency of building lift etc being damage while shifting in and out. Demand of such a heavy amount will be a big burden on prospective tenant.
Can the society ask for such arbitrary amount?
