Surendra Singh Bhati MD of the Sai Kripa Credit Society, Jaisalmer in Rajasthan has made away with around Rs 100 of investors. He is a fugitive from justice, reports Hindustan Times.
Sources say the credit society set up in Jaisalmer around 10 years ago was doing well till 2015 and investors were regularly getting their dividends. But from 2015 onwards, the society began suddenly closing down its branches and the MD fled the scene.
Meanwhile, an action committee of the people who have been duped of their money has been formed. There are about 2000 people who have been defrauded, a source is quoted saying.
A member of the action committee says despite scores of FIRs lodged against the accused, the police is not acting because the fugitive MD is politically influential.
