Salem District Central Cooperative Bank (SDCCB) and 18 other cooperative institutions have handed over to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister a cheque for Rs 1.23 crore for research and development, reports Hindu.
The SDCCB from its profit provided a sum of Rs. 31.82 lakh as its share of cooperative research and development fund and Rs. 21.21 lakh as cooperative education fund.
The remaining amount was provided through cheques by 18 other cooperative organizations.
G.Venkatachalam and A. B. Sakthivel, both MLAs, Malarvizhi, Managing Director, SDCCB, Tamilselvan, General Manager of the bank, and others were present when the cheques were being handed over to the CM by R. Elangovan chairman SDCCB.
