Kerala’s Uralungal Labour Contract Cooperative Society (ULCCS) is likely to make an effort to involve itself in educational projects spending Rs 700 crore over the next couple of years, reports Times of India.

T P Sethumadhavan, director, UL Education, said one if the important projects to be taken up is – a national skill development park in Kozhikode in collaboration with National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), at an investment of Rs 100 crore.

The society would also set up a national institute of infrastructure and construction at the cost of Rs 30 crore at Kollam to offer 38 skill development programmes to people – right from labourers to top managerial personnel.

Yet another important project would be a School of Development Sciences in Kozhikode, affiliated to Calicut University. The school would offer programmes across disciplines including a graduate course in artificial intelligence, the director said.

ULCCS chairman Rameshan Paleri said the school has become a popular seat of learning.
