ICA Gender Committee: Eugenia got re-elected

Maria Eugenia Perez Zea from Colombia has been re-elected as the chairperson of International Cooperative Alliance Gender Equality Committee. The election took place during the ICA General Assembly in Malaysia.

Bhopal Cooperator Arti Bisaria has also made it to the Executive Council from India.

The newly elected Gender Equality Committee includes:-

Maria Eugenia Perez Zea, Colombia (chairperson)

Vania Boyuklieva, Bulgaria

Xiomara Nunez de Cespedes, Dominican Republic

Marjaana Saarikoski, Finland

Arti Bisaria, India

Stefania Marcone, Italy

Malena Riudavets Suarez, Spain

Gender Equality Committee of ICA Coop had set out objectives and activities as well as a vision for the coop conference, 2017.

Like other global development bodies, the ICA recognizes that equality between women and men is an essential requirement in achieving human development, thus improving people’s lives and opportunities.
