We want to open a cooperative bank in the rural village of a West Bengal to help the financially distressed people. However, I don’t have knowledge about how to open such bank. Can you plz guide us in this regard.

Economically viable Cooperatives are allowed to be registered. Presenting a Project Profile which would satisfy the Registering Authority on its success is the first step and if you succeed then next more daunting task is RBI licence to start a Cooperative Bank. If the Project feasibility is very strong, RBI may not be a tough player.
