I am the President of Atomic Energy Employees Consumers Co-operative Stores Ltd., Kalpakkam, Tamil Nadu. Our Co-operative Society is a society of the employees of Department of Atomic Energy, Kalpakkam. The society if established in 1968 and catering to the needs of about 6000 employees and the present turnover of the Society is about Rs. 49 Croes per year.

About 100 people of working in our stores. From the start till now the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India is charging Rs. 1/ per month as rent for the premises allotted to the Co-operative Stores and Free electricity for Co-operative Stores. Now, the Department of Atomic Energy is telling that the Government Auditors are objecting to the free electricity and rental value of Re. 1/- per month and hence the Department is insisting that the Co-operative Stores shall pay the rent and the electricity Charges. If we pay the above charges I am afraid that the Co-operative Stores will sink. Hence I am contacting you for knowing about the subsidies and concessions that are extended by Government of India to Co-operative Stores so that I can take-up with the Department for extending the concessions that we are getting so far from our Department. I would appreciate if you could provide me your contact no so that I can talk to you.

I C Naik
