NCUI: NCCE trains co-ops for weaker section

NCCE recently conducted a leadership development training programme for functionaries of cooperative societies belonging to the weaker sections of society. About 35 participants drawn from Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh attended the programme.

The objective of the programme was to offer participants managerial as well as general skill in using the latest techniques in running cooperatives. The event was also meant to provide a platform for interactions among participants.

Inaugurating the programme, N. Satya Narayana, Chief Executive, NCUI underlined the importance of the SC / ST cooperative sector in improving the lot of the rural poor.

Speaking on the occasion, Kiran Kakati, Chairman, Assam State Cooperative Union and Governing Council Member, NCUI advocated sensitizing the Board Members to effective functioning of the societies through such programmes.
