Cashless society: IFFCO’s network comes in handy
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

To fulfill PM Narendra Modi’s dream of a cashless society his cabinet colleagues have been promoting the idea of “cashless transactions ” in different states of the country. From Radha Mohan Singh to Parshottam Rupala to Union Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu are engaged in boosting the cashless transaction system especially in rural India. And the vast network of IFFCO is coming in handy for them.

The challenge before the govt is to reach out to the maximum number of people as quickly as possible. Being one of the largest cooperatives in the world IFFCO’s connection to about 38 thousand cooperative societies across states is naturally one of the tempting choices before the govt. IFFCO claims to have 5 crore members in its fold.

According to a senior cooperator, the govt could with the help of the network of 8 lakh cooperative societies and about 40 crores of membership solve the problem of cash. Readers would recall the latest survey conducted by the apex cooperative body NCUI puts the number of people connected to cooperatives one way or the other at 40 crore.

If in Dehradun Union Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh inaugurated a programme to promote the cashless transaction system in Rural Areas, Suresh Prabhu and Union Minister of State for Agriculture Parshottam Rupala together participated in a seminar organized by IFFCO to promote cashless transactions among farmers in Haryana.

A jubilant IFFCO Managing Dr U S Awasthi lost no time in sharing the information through social media. “Todayradha-mohan-singh Radha Mohan Singh addressed a seminar on cashless transaction in Dehradun where farmers and cooperators took participation”, Awasthi tweeted.

In the next tweet he wrote “#IFFCO organised a seminar, live demonstration of Cash less transactions for #farmers in #Haryana. @sureshpprabhu @PRupala addressed farmers”.

Radha Mohan Singh wrote on his twitter wall “I addressed the programme organized by IFFCO in Dehradhun to promote Cashless Transaction in rural areas”.

In his address Suresh Prabhu explained to the farmers the benefits of cashless transactions at the IFFCO farmers meeting at Palwal and urged them to adapt to the new system.

Suresh Prabhu tweeted “Addressed a gathering of farmers at Palwal,Haryana. Explained them ways, benefits of doing #Cashless transactions. Very positive response”.

Readers would recall that earlier Indian Farmers Fertilizer Cooperative IFFCO organized a seminar on cashless transactions for farmers which was attended by two Union Ministers Radha Mohan Singh and Suresh Prabhu last week in Dadri, Uttar Pradesh. It has also launched training camps to coach farmers how to do cashless transaction.
