Not only has China barred India entering NSG or the UN security council, their gameplan is on in the field of cooperatives as well with the chance of NCUI President Chandra Pal Singh having almost receded into the background.
While the Indian side is working in the name of the cooperative ideals , the Chinese contingent are clear about what they want and would have everything their way at all costs. The two time President of ICA A-P Mr Li Chunsheng , Indian Cooperative has learnt , has refused to vacate the top post even for the third time.
NCUI President Chandra Pal did not force his way and was content accepting the Vice-Chairmanship thereby disappointing millions of cooperators in the country. Indian cooperators gripe “we claim to represent the strongest movement in the world but are not able to get our due in Asia-Pacific, let alone the global level”.
Angered by what is happening at the meet, cooperators call ICA nothing more than an NGO out to fool people.” See what they do; they collect money from you in the form of registration, ask you to sponsor their lunch and dinner but would support China that deposits the highest amount in the coffers of the organization. This is synonymous with making a mockery of democracy in cooperative, cooperators said asking their names not to be identified.
Indian Cooperative has learnt that Chandra Pal withdrew tactically as he saw little chance of winning. Even
cooperatives of India having business interests in China did not come forward to help him. On smaller countries such as Nepal and Malaysia China has spent enough money to buy their loyalties, according to sources.
South Korea is already with China with Bangladesh being neutral so far. It is only Japan with a huge number of votes (25) which has stood solidly with India. But with India’s stand wilting in the heat of Chinese shenanigans, Japan remains isolated.
ICA A-P has 285 voters and China which has mere 17 votes (India has 25 votes with IFFCO alone having 12 votes) has been able to buy support. Democracy has gone for a toss as Third World has yet to transcend the dreams of avarice in money matters, said a cooperator explaining anomalies in the election.
Elections are scheduled for today but results are almost ready. Of the 12 nominations for the Board, Vietnam has withdrawn making it a consensus situation. The names of Chairman and Vice Chairman are to be announced which is just a formality, said a former staff of ICA A-P. Mr Li Chunsheng is going to be the Chairman for the third time while Chandra Pal would be the Vice-Chairman.
Thought this blog will contribute by writing something about the sessions and informing people about the pressing issues that were discussed at this international meeting. But as usual , this blog continues to discuss people and is very far from the cooperative ideals that it does not and perhaps will never understand. There will be another mouthpiece for cooperators soon.

It would have been better had you identified yourself as we practice freedom of speech in true sense (unlike ICA where size of one’s contribution decides loudness of his tone- bang the opposite of cooperative ideals you are trying to teach us).
You also need to understand that it is a news portal and not a cooperative journal where voluminous reports could be published. ICA A-P’s website is the place for that. But even after having earned huge fund during this Assembly, I do not think they have been able to do that.
Yes, we discuss people- a must for journalism which you being a non-journalist cannot understand. But if you have not yet seen co-op issues being raised in our columns, I cannot help it.
Your threat” There will be another mouthpiece (mouthpiece is a derogatory term, according to English dictionaries, please look it up) for cooperators soon” also represents your intellectual bankruptcy. There are more that 100 publications in this field in India alone; we have been in business despite them so far. We welcome competition anyway.
