The Cosmos Co-operative Bank Ltd., has made available currency of Rs.44 crore through its Pune branches in one single day on Thursday. Cosmos Bank has also supplied the much needed currency to other co-operative banks, informed Bank’s Chairman, CA Milind Kale.
It was observed that other Urban Co-operative Banks (UCBs) had difficulty in procuring the needed currency from other currency chests. Hence taken into account their need, Cosmos Bank’s Currency Chest has proposed to increase supply of currency to other UCBs also on Friday.
Cosmos Bank has indented Rs. 120 crore from RBI for just Pune tomorrow while Rs.50 crore are indented for Mumbai. Bank has indented total amount of Rs. 170 crore and is expecting maximum support from RBI from its Belapur – New Mumbai office.
Chairman Kale stated Cosmos Bank catered to the needs of not only its account holders but also portable banking customers and public at large.
