Several cooperators have greeted BJP President Amit Shah on his birthday who turned 53 last week. Few know, however that Shah has a chequered carrier in the cooperatives of the state of Gujarat before he was catapulted to the electoral politics.
One of the first to greet him was veteran cooperator Jyotindrabhai Mehta. Mehta wished him through social media and posted a photograph with Shah. “Many many happy returns of the day! You always work for the welfare of society ”, Mehta wrote on his facebook wall.
Union Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh also greeted BJP President Amit Shah on his birthday and said “may God give you healthy, happy and long life”.
A science graduate and the son of a businessman-Shah rose to fame when he, as the party in charge in Uttar Pradesh, led the BJP to a grand victory in the state in the 2014 Lok Sabha election where the party won 71 of the 80seats.
Shah and Modi had worked together to lead the party to a spectacular victory, in the general elections ending the Congress rule.
