Odisha government has chosen 15 banks for handling the business and deposits of the State Public Sector Undertakings (SPSUs) and State Level Autonomous Societies (SLASs) and the Odisha State Cooperative Bank is one of them, reports Business Standard.
The Odisha State Cooperative Bank is among the leading banks that made the grade.
The Odisha government in consultations with the RBI and State Level Bankers’ Committee had finalised 15 parameters to appraise the performance of the banks.
Financial inclusion, especially sanctioning of loans to agriculture, MSME (micro, small & medium enterprises) and SHGs (self-help groups) or JLGs (joint liability groups) and opening of new bank branches in unbanked GPs (gram panchayats) were delineated as the key criteria.
