I am dealing with solar power generation in Gujarat. Recently GOG has declared a solar policy 2015. I want to know by making co-operative society we can installed Solar power? What are the rules for that?

  1. Any company or body corporate or association or body of individuals, whether incorporated or not, or artificial juridical person can set up Solar Power Generators (SPGs).
  2. Eligible  Entity  for  Rooftop  PV  system with net metering must
  • own the rooftop solar PV system*;
  • own or be in legal possession of the premises including the rooftop or terrace;
  • be a Consumer of the local DisCom, and the premises shall be connected to the DisCom’s grid; and
  • consume all of the electricity generated from the rooftop solar PV system at the same premise.   [ If the Consumer is not able to consume all of the generated electricity in the same premise, relevant provisions defined in this Policy shall be applicable to the generated surplus electricity.]
